Neato Robotics is a pioneer in the robotic vacuum cleaner industry, having invented D-shaped robot vacuums with advanced AI and LIDAR technology. With the aim of establishing themselves as a premium global brand, I had the opportunity to refresh the brand system and apply the design across multiple platforms such as advertising, packaging, print, web design, and social media. I developed and oversaw the creation of a cohesive brand image while managing the brand guidelines.

In this role, I worked closely with the marketing team. I led a team of designers to deliver strategic and compelling design concepts and solutions while ensuring the overall designs aligned with the brand’s integrity. Through our collaboration, we achieved a 78% revenue growth (2022 vs. 2021) and a 49% growth (2021 vs. 2020). Additionally, we doubled social media followers and achieved over a 60% year-over-year engagement increase.

After conducting in-store and online competitor audits, we noticed that the previous design lacked distinction from our competitors. To address this, we took the following approach:

  • Utilized vibrant orange to set the mood of brand expression and to enhance brand recognition.

  • Simplified and set a clear visual hierarchy to increase audience engagement.

  • Showcased Neato’s iconic D-shaped products as hero graphics, setting it apart from the predominantly circular-shaped competitors.

  • Incorporated motion graphics to better communicate the functionality of the products.
