Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions

Branding / System Design / Concept Development / Advertising / Publishing

At Stanford Center for Ocean Solutions, the research focuses on catalyzing innovation and action to enhance the health of the oceans. My objective was to create awareness about the pressing environmental threats impacting our oceans through design. Employing a fresh, systematic approach to branding, I developed display banners, science reports, pitch decks, and marketing materials for various campaigns.

The dissolving Nautilus shell symbolizes the devastating effects of ocean acidification and rising temperatures, while the deep-sea medusa jellyfish highlights rare and endangered ocean inhabitants. Feedback was that the materials attracted increased attention, raised awareness, and served as an excellent presentation at events, including Copenhagen Climate Change Conference.

The 171-page Pacific Ocean Synthesis report, designed for scientists and policymakers, provides a comprehensive summary of the threats, impacts, and solutions for the Pacific Ocean. Captivating images, graphics, and pull quotes were strategically incorporated into the design, making it visually appealing and comprehensible.
